Multytude Welcomes New Advisory Board Member, Tony Russell-Rose

Multytude, ‘the only social platform where you can make sense of the conversation’, is pleased to announce that it has welcomed a new Advisory Board Member, Tony Russell-Rose. 

Dr. Russell-Rose will act as an advisor and help develop the company's next generation natural language processing technology. He is Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor of Cognitive Computing & AI at Essex University and Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Goldsmiths, University of London. 

Tony brings vast experience and wisdom from both research and entrepreneurial career spanning almost three decades in areas of human-computer interaction, information retrieval and natural language processing. He’s founded and managed UXLabs (user experience design and research) and 2Dsearch (applying AI, NLP and data visualisation to create next generation search experiences) in addition to being invited expert to the European Commission on matters of language technologies & text analytics.

Tony Russell-Rose (Ph,D, Artificial Intelligence - Natural Language Interfaces) began his career as a senior lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Nottingham Trent University. He had research fellowships in prominent organisations such as Hewlett-Packard Laboratories and BT Labs. At Canon Research Centre, he led a group of researchers developing next generation information access products and services, focusing on text analytics (NLP) and advanced search user interfaces and prototypes.  He then founded and led the global centre of excellence for NLP and text analytics at Reuters, including the development of advanced search user interfaces and prototypes.

In addition to his pure research and scientific activities, he has also been a prominent entrepreneur interested in the execution and commercialisation of new technologies. He’s the founder and managing director of UXLabs which provides research and design services to help clients create user-centred interactive products and services, with an emphasis on evidence-based research from the fields of cognitive psychology and human-computer interaction. He’s also the founder and the chief scientist of 2Dsearch which works on creating the next generation of professional search tools by applying AI, NLP and data visualisation.
